Every year, Georgetown welcomes undergraduate students to both study and live at Villa Le Balze. The Villa provides students with a unique study abroad experience that includes classes on site, a comprehensive academic program, intensive Italian language classes, and ample time to travel throughout Italy. Georgetown students and students from other universities are invited to apply to the Villa's undergraduate programs.
Villa Le Balze, a Renaissance-style estate of breathtaking beauty, is located in Fiesole, a small town in the Tuscan hills, minutes from the center of Florence. The Villa rests on three hectares of land complete with formal gardens and olive groves, and offers a truly extraordinary view of Florence, one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the world.
Semester programs start in the Fall or Spring. Additionally, students may choose to apply to study for a entire academic year. Summer study at the Villa offers students a thematic-based cohesive program that introduces students to the rich history, art and culture of Italy.
