The Villa Le Balze Family

Program participants often say their semester, summer or academic year at Villa Le Balze was a highlight of their Georgetown career.  Students and faculty alike form life-long friendships and continue to be drawn to the Villa throughout their lives, often returning years later to share the joys of Villa Le Balze with their spouses, children and family friends.

Alumni Visits to the Villa

Planning a visit to Florence? Alumni are welcome to tour the gardens at the Villa Le Balze by appointment. The gardens are open for scheduled visits Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (last morning entrance 12:00) and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. (last afternoon entrance 3:30). The Villa remains closed to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, school or public holidays and from the end of July to the end of August. Visitors should plan for approximately 30 minutes. We do not offer formal garden tours but visitors are welcome to guide yourselves around the grounds. Please note that as Villa Le Balze is a private residence, no access to any of the buildings is permitted to the general public.

Partial villa tours are available for alumni and Georgetown University community members. The villa staff will work to accommodate requests for villa tours but will reserve the right to deny access to all or part of the villa and its grounds for reasons of safety, privacy, and student life in general.

For more information or to schedule a visit please contact Assistant Director, Simona Mocali via email at smocali@villalebalze.org or via phone at +39 055 59208.
