Academics at Villa Le Balze
The Villa provides students with a unique experience that includes classes on site, a comprehensive academic program, intensive Italian language classes, and ample opportunity for the exploration of Italy.
In 1979, the Marquesa Margaret Rockefeller donated Villa Le Balze to Georgetown University with the desire that it should remain a place of learning and scholarship in memory of her father, the American philosopher and educator Charles Augustus Strong. Today Villa Le Balze continues to uphold Strong’s legacy, while advancing the University’s academic mission through a variety of programs and events.
