We are pleased to announce our spring 2018 guest lectures.

Late Medieval City-States and the Origins of Modern Democracy with Prof. Fabrizio Ricciardelli, Ph.D.

Join us for a lecture with Dr. Fabrizio Ricciardelli, director of the Kent State University Florence Center and former instructor at Villa Le Balze. His main field of study is Italian city-states in the social, economic, political, and cultural landscape of Medieval Europe. He has authored and co-authored numerous books on the topic. Dr. Ricciardelli will present the first lecture in our Spring 2018 Lecture Series. The lecture will be followed by a reception.

Architecture in the Age of Video with Dr. Marco Brizzi

Join us as we welcome Dr. Marco Brizzi, a professor of architecture for the California State University Florence program. He actively promotes a wider knowledge of media issues in architecture through the organization of the International Festival for Architecture and Media and the publication of ARCH’IT, an online Italian architectural magazine. The lecture will be followed by a reception.
